A few weeks ago, it was my parent’s 58th Wedding anniversary.  I didn’t forget to wish them a very Happy Anniversary, but I forgot to make this clip (and post it).

So – Happy Anniversary to my parents and congratulations for making it to # 58!

Hello friends and family. Good afternoon, morning, evening, or whatever time it is when you are listening to this. I was having a difficult time in trying to come up with a title for this week’s episode. Suffice it to say, at last nights concert, I strolled by a mural of The Beastie Boys – so there you have it.

I was at The Paper Tiger to see Helmet! A late 80’s/90’s hard rock/grunge era band that is still kicking ass and taking names. Great show! But back to the title of the episode. Obviously if you listen you will get the gist of what I am musing about with the title – fighting for my VA rights in particular.

And you have to fight for your rights – whatever they are – in whatever circumstance. If it’s important to you, you should fight for yourself, your family, health, whatever. It is important. Like I said in the episode – nobody loves you more than you and your family, so take care of yourself and fight!

Again – thank you for our loyal listeners. For that, we are eternally grateful. It means a lot to me and the other old fart that you take these few minutes to listen to us and our musings. We try to entertain – and sometimes we do and I am sure sometimes we don’t. So thank you again for listening – especially to our Ontario, Canada fan!

Hello to all of our fans, friends and family. We are thankful for each and every one of you. It’s just another peaceful, easy, Sunday today. And we were able to get another episode in the books. Not much has changed or happened since we last talked.

Ok – I take that back. I went to Hawaii for work. It was a nice trip with coworkers who are also friends. It was also nice to be able to visit the USS Arizona memorial and pay our respects. If you make it to Hawaii – that is an absolute bucket-list must see!

Again, we are so happy and thankful for you all. And to our Ontario, Canada listener, thank you. That is so awesome. But among this thankfulness comes a hint of sadness. The sadness in knowing that our beloved College Football is coming to an end. The season is half over.

Alabama is looking strong. Georgia does too, however, their schedule is mightly weak! Colorado – I see you! Coach Prime is doing an awesome job! Notre Dame, I see you too. Overrated as usual.

Well, I need to get this episode “in the can” and published on the socials because I have another concert to attend tonight – The Dropkick Murphys! See ya! The 2 Old Farts

What is the message this week? This episode didn’t really have a theme. We didn’t do anything that we could build an episode around. But like most things between us, it comes back to sports. And through sports, you go through highs and lows. Trials and tribulations. Success and failure. But through it all, if you believe in yourself and your teammates, you can succeed. I guess that’s the biggest takeaway from this episode. And family. Family has been important to me and my success. Success. I think our little podcast is successful. We do have listeners downloading our episodes. It isn’t a lot but we are grateful and thankful. Especially to our international audience We are so proud of that! Thank you.

Good afternoon everyone!  Thank you for listening and continuing to listen. We hope you like, subscribe and share this whith your frineds and family.  This is definitely a labor of love for my dad and me.

Sorry about not recording an episode last week. I know we are trying harder to be more consistent.  Unfortunately I was just a bit busy and tired.  My dad and I suffered through a horrendous home loss for the Crimson Tide. Congratulations to Texas! Hats off to them.  They just out hustled us, our coached us and just plain beat us.

I always love it (my dad does too) when the grandkids come and get to participate in our shananigans.  It really makes it fun. We hope you like it.

Thank you all for listening.  Thank you to our international audience.  I am always amazed at where our listeners are coming from. Canada. Austrailia. Indonesia.  Guatamala. For our Canadian listener(s) in Ontario, thank you.  For Australia, we had a download from Victoria – that’s a 1st for us.  Even Indonesia was a 1st!  Wow. We are so blessed and blown away.  Thank you.

Keep listening. Keep liking.  Keep subscribing!

Good afternoon and welcome to Episdoe 18 of The 2 Old Farts Podcast. Today we discuss Labor Day weekend and the struggles of streaming TV.  And yes, it’s a struggle.  On Friday, Spectrum Cable in their discussions with Disney broke down – so now sports fans who have Spectrum are struggling to watch sports that are carried by ESPN!  Because ESPN (through the app) is tied to your cable provider. Because of that, Spectrum Cable subscribers are in “the dark” when it comes to watching anything owned by Disney.

So that’s a lot of our conversation today.  But we did have fun last night. We went to The Roundup to see Pam Tillis. What a treat. The weather (for September) was very pleasant. The beers were cold. The venue is always great and the singer, she was fantastic!  What more could we ask for?  Well, to still have her father, Mel Tillis with us, would have been nice.

At any rate, we are going to endeavor to try and be more consistent with our episodes.  You all deserve it.  Thank you so much for listening. Please continue to listen and to share us with your friends and family.  And if we could only get our wives to listen to our podcast LOL.

Thank you.

The big surprise is finally revealed!  We are going to Tuscaloosa. T-Town. Title Town.  The home of the University of Alabama!  We are FINALLY going to be there for a home game.  And it’s about time.

We’ve been to a Bowl Game (Cotton Bowl). We’ve been to a road game (vs Texas A&M). We’ve been to the A-Day game (2021).  We’ve even been to a Playoff Game (vs Michigan State). Now it’s finally a home game.  All things except the SEC Championship and a National Championship game.  Maybe if we get some more money!

As you probably guessed – we are pretty stoked!  We are staying at the Hotel Capstone on the UA campus.  This is soooo convenient!  It’s going to be a great father/son road trip – without the actual road!  This time we are actually flying!  Thank you Southwest Airlines Frequent Flyer miles!

Welcome to Week 1 of College Football and Roll Tide!

Since I arrived back from Germany, I took a little time to unwind, and decompress.  Then I became a slacker and didn’t record an episode last week.  But this weekend my dad and I made the trip (Finally!) to Shiner Texas and visited the World Famous Shiner Bock Brewery!

My dad has been pestering me for some time to take a trip out there – so I took him there for his birthday. He was so happy.  My mom and wife even joined us!  Everyone had a great time.

We hope you like what you hear.  If you do – come on back and spread the word. If you don’t, drop us a line and help us fix our goofy father/son podcast!

Take care!

PS – hello to my Swiss brothers!  you know who you are.

Good morning and Good Afternoon, depending on where you are.  Why? Because 1 half (the REALLY better looking of the 2 Old Farts) is away on business and in Germany! What a rare treat it is for me to be here in Germany for work.

I really cannot get enough of this beautiful country. I have been stationed in Germany twice throughout my Army career. The 1st time was from 1986 – 1990 and the last time was from 1992 – 1996.  I did have a few pit stops in Germany when I was station in Italy from 2001 – 2004 and a few TDY’s to Germany while I was stationed with US Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) at Fort Bragg, NC.  Lucky me!

Well, I cannot get enough of the beer and schnitzel over here! The food is so awesome. The people are just the best and the people that I am working with couldn’t be any cooler. I am honored to be working alongside some of the finest cyber professionals that Switzerland has to offer.

We hope you enjoy this episode – and I especially hope my Swiss cyber cohorts enjoy this episode and all the others. Take care and Bonjour!  IYKYK.
